Overview

The Asian American Peace Officers Association (AAPOA) is a non-profit organization that represents Asian Americans in law enforcement agencies in Texas. Its members come from the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and law enforcement agencies within the state of Texas. AAPOA’s membership is open to local, state and federal agencies.
AAPOA’s main purpose is to promote a positive image of law enforcement in the State of Texas, especially in the Asian American communities. To achieve this goal, the organization will participate in various endeavors beneficial to law enforcement agencies and the communities in which its members serve.
Since being established in 2022, AAPOA has worked to promote understanding and cooperation between the Asian American community and law enforcement agencies through community policing. Some of the notable events in which AAPOA participated are Thanksgiving Dinner giveaway, Purple Stride Walk, Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
